Evolution Expeditions presents a combination tour sure to please any outdoor enthusiast! The Kayak Hike & Hot Springs tour provides the best of both worlds by letting you explore the Colorado River Valley by both land and water.
The tour begins at 7:00 am with a three-mile hike through White Rock Canyon in Arizona. Early spring is best for viewing flora and fauna. Be sure to stop occasionally to take in the surrounding geological wonders comprised of volcanic, sandstone, and granite formations.
Three miles and 800 ft lower in elevation, the Colorado River’s edge can be found. Traverse over surfaces created billions of years ago by earth’s volcanic activity, to soak in natural hot spring pools! At the Arizona Hot Springs, relax in heated geothermal pools. These magnificent pools situated between the slot canyon walls.
While hiking and kayaking through canyons, which snake back and forth, experience the excitement, thrill, and anticipation of what is around the bend, remember to stop and look up as bighorn sheep are seen often on the cliffs above.
Rejuvenated, take a short stroll to the edge of the river to find kayaking gear. Embark on an eight-mile paddle through the Black Canyon, while stopping to view wildlife, springs, and caves, accompanied by a highly qualified river guide.
