Evolution Expeditions presents a combination tour sure to please any outdoor enthusiast! The Kayak Hike & Hot Springs tour provides the best of both worlds by letting you explore the Colorado River Valley by both land and water.
The tour begins at 7:00am with a three mile hike through Arizona’s White Rock Canyon. Early spring is best for viewing flora and fauna. Be sure to stop occasionally to taken the surrounding geologic formations comprised of volcanic, sandstone and granite formations.
Three miles and 800’ lower in elevation, the Colorado River’s edge can be found. Traverse over surfaces created billions of years ago by earth’s volcanic activity, to soak in natural hot spring pools! At the Arizona Hot Springs, relax in heated geothermal pools. These magnificent pools are situated between the slot canyon walls.
While hiking and kayaking through canyons, which snake back and forth, experience the excitement, thrill and anticipation of what’s around the next bend. Remember to stop and look up as bighorn sheep are seen often on the cliffs above.
Rejuvenated, take a short stroll to the rivers edge to find kayaking gear. Embark on an eight mile paddle through the Black Canyon, while stopping to view wildlife, springs, and caves, accompanied by a highly qualified river guide.
